India head into the upcoming tournament on a high after completing a dominant 3-0 T20I series sweep against Zimbabwe at home. Their impressive 92-run victory in Raipur on Tuesday sealed the clean sweep and provided valuable preparation for the major tournament.

India Experiment with Bowling Combinations
India tested different combinations throughout the three-match series, with several players making an impact with the ball. Nandani Sharma picked up six wickets, while Kranti Gaud and Niki Prasad claimed three wickets each.
Mandhana also highlighted the contributions of Niki Prasad and Shafali Verma, expressing satisfaction with the team’s overall performance. With dew expected to play a significant role in Indian conditions over the coming months, the captain believes having multiple bowling options will be crucial.
“Our bowling options are looking good for sure. We have been looking at how dew is playing its part again,” Mandhana said.
She added that the team would benefit from having more bowling options as they prepare for the Champions Trophy.

Harmanpreet Kaur Returns to Form with Unbeaten 91
Another major positive from the Zimbabwe series was the return to form of former India captain Harmanpreet Kaur. The experienced batter smashed an unbeaten 91 off just 41 balls in the third T20I, hitting five sixes and 10 boundaries.
The innings came after Harmanpreet stepped down as India’s captain earlier this month, handing over the leadership to Smriti Mandhana.
Harmanpreet indicated that she is now focused on enjoying her batting without the additional responsibility of captaincy.
“I don’t think there is any pressure anymore. Now, it’s all about enjoying myself on the field,” Harmanpreet said after the match.
She added that she wants to enjoy her time at the crease, expressing happiness that her runs came at the right time.
India Look Ahead to Champions Trophy 2027
The Zimbabwe series has given India encouraging signs, with their bowling depth and experienced batters showing promising form. As the team prepares for the inaugural Women’s Champions Trophy on home soil, maintaining consistency and adapting to conditions will remain key priorities.
With Mandhana leading the side and Harmanpreet rediscovering her touch, India will look to build on this momentum ahead of the February 2027 tournament.
